FCPR Young Riders Camp

Frederick County Parks and Recreation has offered us a unique and valued opportunity to serve as their 2018 Summer Equestrian Camp Center Offering several dates for young equestrians to gain hands on horse knowledge and riding lessons.  Camp is from 9 am to 3:00 PM Monday through Thursday in June and July.

At the end of each session, we invite you to watch the campers ride and win ribbons in their camp schooling horse show demonstration



Camp Attire : For safety and Comfort


  1. •Clothes: Long Pants are required. Please do not wear pant that have embellished pockets as they scratch the saddles

  2. •Britches, jodhpurs or fitted pants with chaps or half/chaps and a belt are recommended.   Shirts must be fitted or tucked in. No tank tops or crop top shirts allowed.

  3. •Footwear: 1/4 inch heal

    * even when we are not riding slippers, sandals flip flops etc are not allowed.

  1. •Helmets: All riders, including adults, must have a properly fitted, ASTM approved riding helmet

        with harness. Hunter’s Bay  does NOT supply or lend riding helmets. We                    

        strongly urge you not to buy used helmets.

  1. •Hair: All hairstyles must be neat.

  2. • Long hair not tucked into the helmet must be tied back or in braids. All hair must be kept off the face.

  3. •Students who do not have the proper riding attire will not be able to ride due to safety issues
